Our client is a leading global trader in the food industry.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role will be involved in all aspects of our clients’ food sourcing business in Asia. Tasks will involve collecting and compiling budgetary data, Monthly business forecasts, market information analysis and trends, tracking sales performance against budget, initial contact and price gathering from suppliers, understanding the costing system and cost sheet preparation. In the future, leading price negotiations would also be considered.
The successful applicant will be a logical, methodical and thorough person who is outgoing and confident in dealings with people and with suppliers in negotiations.
Provide briefs to suppliers, maintain regular communication with suppliers and secure a mutually beneficial, long-term business relationship across Asia Pacific Region.
Define raw materials procurement plan, forecast supply, cash requirements and prepare payments.
Maintain and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
Work closely with the internal team to develop the overall supply base.
Define and maintain metrics supporting the analysis of the market drivers and trends.
Propose and implement measures to generate cost savings.
Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
Provide Analytical, budgetary forecasting & administration support to Managers.
Qualifications
Degree in food science or other related fields.
1-5 years’ experience working in purchasing, sourcing or procurement is a plus. Open to fresh graduates.
Fluent in both written and spoken in English.
High communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
