China – Home Based (Xi'an, Shaanxi, or Beijing)
The Technical Manager is a newly created role for our clients’ China operations and will be a key role in the maintenance of their current post-harvest business and the growth into pre-harvest, focusing on fruit physiology.
Our client is looking for a flexible, all-rounder who enjoys travelling and is able to get involved with all aspects of technical support, both internally for the team, and externally for their customers. We are looking for somebody with at least 5 years’ experience, ideally with knowledge of plant physiology from fruits but could be from other plants.
The role will report to the China Commercial Manager and functionally into the European based R&D Director, and as a home-based, you can located anywhere although ideally Xi'an, Shaanxi. As a home-based role, we are looking for somebody who is able to work independently with minimal day to day supervision.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to distribution partners with suitable technical advice and solutions.
Identify customers' technical needs, and collaborate with the global R&D team to create customized solutions.
Implement R&D projects and new product launch projects through Registration trial arrangements, trial protocol preparation, trial follow-up, and trial report collection.
Support regulatory issues by working with the global regulatory team and local regulatory consultant.
Execute research on assigned projects using working knowledge of scientific principles, theory, and experimental design within a scientific discipline.
Generate sound research data and data handling to support the projects, clients and the global team.
Develop relationships with local stakeholders such as research institutes and the government.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience either in technical / agronomy / R&D role or as a postharvest researcher or fresh postgraduate. Experience in fruits highly desirable.
Willingness to set up and conduct business activities from a home office, with extensive travel.
Ideally good connections with researchers in the field of postharvest and fruit production.
Good at using MS office and Statistical software.
Good level of English language.
